Nursing personnel at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology initiated a work stoppage to protest the reported harassment and physical assault of a staff member. The incident allegedly involved a patient's relatives who confronted the emergency department's head nurse. Normal operations resumed once hospital management pledged to file a formal police report and guarantee improved safety measures for medical staff. To address the situation, the Executive Director established a three-member investigative panel consisting of Professor Misbah Durrani, Dr. Abdul Malik Sheikh, and Dr. Abdus Salam Azad. This committee is tasked with reviewing security camera recordings and gathering testimonies from involved employees. The panel is expected to deliver its findings within a one-week timeframe to determine the sequence of events regarding the alleged altercation.
