Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Anushka Shrestha has formally urged the Nepali government to address the escalating rates of violence against women and children. During a recent session of the House of Representatives, Shrestha inquired about the status of a government report concerning serious crimes against minors. While acknowledging the administration's previous efforts in responding to specific cases of child abuse, she emphasized the need for sustained attention to the matter. Drawing parallels to international incidents, the MP argued that sexual violence is a complex societal issue that cannot be resolved through isolated measures. She stressed that a comprehensive approach involving the state, the public, and individual responsibility is essential to effectively combat these recurring patterns of abuse and ensure the safety of vulnerable populations.
