Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Japanese counterpart, Toshimitsu Motegi, during the G20 Foreign Ministers' gathering in Atlanta. The two officials reviewed the bilateral relationship between their nations and addressed ongoing regional security concerns. A primary focus of their discussion was the persistent Houthi militia attacks against Saudi Arabia, which both ministers condemned while affirming their mutual support. Furthermore, the diplomats evaluated the risks posed to international shipping lanes, specifically within the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait. They highlighted how these threats jeopardize global trade, energy security, and supply chain integrity. Consequently, both representatives emphasized the necessity of robust international collaboration to protect maritime routes and guarantee the freedom of navigation in these critical waterways.
