Saudi Arabian authorities have introduced updated guidelines for the importation of fruits and vegetables. Under the new regulations approved by the Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, import permits will now remain valid for 15 days from the date of issue. Importers are required to secure these permits at least 24 hours prior to the arrival of goods at any port of entry. Furthermore, shipments cannot be dispatched without prior authorization, and any cargo arriving without a valid permit will be denied entry, with the importer held fully accountable. To participate in the trade, businesses must hold a valid commercial registration and obtain a specific import license from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. These new protocols are scheduled to become enforceable 30 days following the official announcement.
