Data released by the General Authority for Statistics indicates that Saudi Arabia's non-oil and government sectors both expanded by 0.9 percent during the second quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year. Notable performance was observed in community, social, and personal services, which saw a 4.1 percent annual increase, while the finance and business services sector grew by 3.3 percent. Additionally, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing industries reported a 2.6 percent rise. Despite these gains, the nation's total real gross domestic product fell by 4.7 percent year-on-year, primarily driven by a significant 24.8 percent contraction in oil-related activities. Nevertheless, non-oil sectors provided a positive contribution of 0.6 percentage points to the overall real GDP growth figures for the period.
