Saudi Arabian traffic officials have announced a penalty of 6,000 Saudi Riyals for individuals participating in unauthorized vehicle races or organized convoys on public thoroughfares. The Traffic Department clarified that the fine starts at a minimum of 3,000 Riyals. To enforce these regulations, specialized field units and undercover officers are actively monitoring roads throughout the kingdom to identify and apprehend those engaging in prohibited racing activities. These measures aim to mitigate traffic disruptions and enhance public safety, as unauthorized racing has historically contributed to dangerous road conditions. Authorities noted that recent rigorous traffic management strategies have already proven effective in reducing reckless driving behaviors and associated accidents across the country.
