Recent flooding in the Bhote Koshi River has caused extensive damage to agricultural land in the Uttargaya Rural Municipality of Rasuwa, Nepal. Significant portions of fertile paddy fields in wards 4 and 5 have been buried under layers of sand and debris, effectively transforming productive farmland into riverbeds. Local officials, including Chairman Madhav Aryal, have confirmed that the destruction of these crops poses a major threat to the food security and livelihoods of local farmers just before the harvest season. Across the Rasuwa district, an estimated 1,806 hectares of arable land have been impacted by the disaster. The rural municipality is currently assessing the full extent of the damage while coordinating with provincial and federal authorities to secure emergency relief and financial compensation for the affected agricultural community.
