Recent figures from the Pentagon reveal that American military expenditures related to the conflict in Iran have surpassed 47 billion dollars. This amount represents a significant increase of over 25 percent compared to the Department of Defense projections released last July. Although the Pentagon has not officially commented on these internal findings, the rising financial burden arrives at a critical juncture for the Republican Party. With the November 3 congressional elections approaching, the party is facing political challenges linked to the unpopularity of the military engagement. Furthermore, the economic consequences of the war, particularly regarding global energy prices, have negatively influenced President Donald Trump’s approval ratings and the standing of Republican candidates. The current estimate focuses primarily on operational expenses as the party maintains a slim legislative majority.
