Singaporean authorities have clarified the compensation structure for political officeholders, confirming that individuals managing multiple portfolios do not receive additional remuneration. Coordinating Minister for Public Services Chan Chun Sing emphasized the principle of a single salary package per person during a parliamentary session on September 8. This policy remains unchanged, as the government has adopted the 2026 Salary Review Committee's recommendation to maintain the current practice. Furthermore, ministers do not receive a separate allowance for their duties as Members of Parliament. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Minister Chan addressed these points while discussing the first adjustment to political salaries in 15 years, aiming to ensure transparency regarding how government officials are compensated for their service.
