Singapore’s National Environment Agency has initiated formal preventive measures against seven Indonesian corporations suspected of contributing to regional haze. Sustainability and the Environment Minister Grace Fu confirmed that these entities are being issued notices under the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act following investigations into fire outbreaks on their respective land holdings. The identified companies include PT Bumi Andalas Permai, PT Bumi Mekar Hijau, PT Paramitra Mulia Langgeng, PT Sumatera Alam Anugerah, PT SBA Wood Industries, PT Hutan Lestari Raya, and PT Bangkanesia. Minister Fu, accompanied by other cabinet members, stated that the government is prepared to pursue further regulatory actions if necessary to address the environmental impact of these fires. This public disclosure marks a significant step in Singapore's ongoing efforts to hold organizations accountable for smoke pollution affecting the city-state.
