These remarks surfaced following the recent flooding in Nepal, where users questioned the nationality of missing Singaporean citizens, and in response to Singapore Airlines' financial investment in Air India. Senior Minister K Shanmugam characterized the latter comments as anti-Indian racist rhetoric and requested a formal police investigation. Both Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong have publicly urged the public to denounce such discriminatory viewpoints. Law enforcement authorities confirmed that investigations remain ongoing to identify further individuals responsible for these posts, emphasizing that the police treat such incidents with significant gravity.
