A thirty-year-old administrative employee in Singapore has been sentenced to eighteen months in prison for stealing S$63,000 from her employer, Ossia International Ltd. The woman, identified as Sim Shimin, admitted to transferring the funds into her private bank account across twelve separate transactions within a two-month period. She utilized her access to the company's security tokens to facilitate the unauthorized transfers. The defendant committed these acts after discovering she was over six months pregnant, citing financial concerns regarding upcoming childbirth costs as her primary motivation. Facing four legal counts including forgery and criminal breach of trust, she entered a guilty plea for three of the charges, while the fourth was considered during the sentencing process.
