South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun recently held discussions with Crispus Walter Kiyonga, Uganda's second deputy prime minister. During their meeting on Thursday, Minister Cho conveyed Seoul's request for Uganda's assistance to South Korean companies conducting operations within the African nation. The minister also emphasized the advancements made in nuclear energy collaboration between the two countries. A notable development in this partnership occurred last May when Uganda's energy ministry awarded a contract to Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power. This agreement involves the assessment of a potential location in the Buyende region, designated for the construction of Uganda's very first nuclear power facility. The engagement underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and economic cooperation.
