Data from the Korea Creative Content Agency indicates a notable decline in the consumption of domestic programming among South Korean Netflix users. During the third quarter of this year, the preference for local content on the platform dropped to 58.58 percent, representing a 10.33 percentage point decrease compared to the previous quarter. Furthermore, interest in Korean-produced shows that are not classified as Netflix originals experienced a more substantial reduction, falling from 52.06 percent in the second quarter to 37.67 percent in the third quarter. This shift highlights a changing trend in viewing habits within the South Korean market regarding locally produced media on international streaming platforms.
