The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) board has officially designated its subsidiary, SRT Electrified Train Co (SRTET), to assume control of the Airport Rail Link operations starting February 1, 2027. This transition marks the end of the current contract held by Asia Era One, a CP Group entity that has managed the line since 2021. SRTET, which currently oversees the Red Line commuter service, previously operated the Airport Rail Link for over ten years. Acting CEO Kongsak Chantarasopa stated that a joint team from SRT and SRTET has commenced a comprehensive review of operational data and infrastructure assets. This evaluation process is scheduled for completion by October, providing the necessary foundation for finalizing staffing requirements, budgetary allocations, and the overall transition strategy for the upcoming change in management.
