The Taipei Fine Arts Museum has launched a major exhibition titled "Ryuichi Sakamoto: seeing sound, hearing time," which will remain open until March 2027. Curated to function as a cohesive musical album, the showcase features nine installations that explore the late composer’s fascination with nature, technology, and time. Collaborator Shiro Takatani noted that the layout is specifically designed to harmonize with the museum’s architecture, allowing visitors to experience seamless transitions between soundscapes. Highlights include "Sensing Streams," which converts local electromagnetic signals into sensory data, and "water state 1," which utilizes regional rainfall patterns and Taiwanese stones. The exhibition also provides an intimate look at Sakamoto’s creative process through archival materials and video installations documenting his studio life. Guests are encouraged to explore these works at their own pace, with online reservations recommended for entry.
