The National Museum of Taiwan Literature and the United Kingdom's National Centre for Writing have formalized a partnership to cultivate English-language translators specializing in Taiwanese works. Through a new mentorship track, the initiative aims to foster a sustainable pipeline of professionals capable of introducing local literature to British audiences. Taiwan's Culture Minister Li Yuan attended the signing ceremony in Norwich, highlighting the potential for deeper cultural exchange between the two nations. The program has already attracted 16 applicants for its upcoming cycle, reflecting significant interest in the field. This collaboration follows the international acclaim of Yang Shuang-zi's "Taiwan Travelogue" and precedes future plans for writer residencies and a dedicated Taiwanese literature festival scheduled for the spring of 2027.
