Thai soldiers deployed two warning shots along the border in Tak province on October 29 following intense combat in Myanmar. The spillover of artillery and gunfire into the Mae Sot district resulted in damage to over 20 residential properties. A 55-year-old local resident named Lamyong sustained shrapnel wounds to her arm and back after a mortar shell struck her home in Maha Wan subdistrict. She was subsequently transported to Mae Sot Hospital, where medical staff confirmed she is in stable condition. The ongoing hostilities between Myanmar government forces and resistance groups near the village of Min La Pan in Myawaddy have caused significant concern for safety in neighboring Thai communities. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as heavy weaponry remains in use across the border.
