He emphasized that he has no knowledge of such intentions and expressed his belief that it would be unsuitable for her to engage in political activities at this time. According to Weerasinghe, Limini's primary focus should remain on supporting her husband and caring for their children while Rajapaksa is held in remand custody. He maintained that her current responsibilities lie within the family sphere rather than on political platforms.
