Police Narcotics Bureau officers at Bandaranaike International Airport apprehended three Thai citizens on October 15 after discovering over five kilograms of hashish in their possession. The suspects, aged 22 to 33, arrived from Bangkok on a Thai Airways flight. Authorities found the illicit substance, valued at approximately Rs. 51 million, concealed within cosmetic containers inside their luggage. The individuals, who reportedly work as drivers in Thailand, were taken into custody upon the discovery of the narcotics. The suspects and the confiscated evidence are scheduled to be presented before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court as the investigation continues.
