Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadkaraj Paudel has characterized the financial and administrative state of Nepal Airlines as critically unstable. During a session of the House of Representatives' International Relations and Tourism Committee, Paudel argued that purchasing additional aircraft is futile without first addressing deep-seated managerial deficiencies. He emphasized that the national flag carrier’s current operational model is unsustainable, noting that a private entity facing similar challenges would likely have ceased operations entirely. The minister underscored that restoring the airline's standing requires comprehensive organizational reform rather than mere fleet expansion. He acknowledged that while the airline serves a public purpose beyond simple profit generation, its present condition remains a matter of urgent concern that necessitates immediate structural intervention to prevent further decline.
