Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has initiated disciplinary action against Ohayami Transit and Victory Liner following an inspection of their Manila terminals. During his first day back in office, Dizon discovered several operational failures at the Sampaloc facilities, including unsanitary restrooms lacking running water and a shortage of seating and cooling equipment for commuters. These inspections were conducted in anticipation of the increased passenger volume expected during the upcoming Undas holidays. Furthermore, Dizon noted that the companies failed to provide sufficient cashless payment alternatives, which contradicts the current administration's policy to modernize ticketing systems. Consequently, the Department of Transportation has issued show cause orders to both firms, requiring them to address these facility violations immediately to improve the overall experience for travelers.
