Ethem Sancak, the deputy leader of Turkey's Patriotic Party (VP), has publicly supported the Alternative for Germany (AfD), dismissing claims that the German political group is Islamophobic or racist. Sancak characterized these accusations as misinformation promoted by globalist interests intended to alienate Asian countries from the party. He noted that several individuals associated with the VP in Germany have already become members of the AfD, suggesting that some might even attain leadership positions due to the strong ties between the two organizations. These statements follow the AfD's recent electoral success in Saxony-Anhalt, where they secured nearly 44 percent of the vote. While the party is currently looking for coalition partners to form a government, mainstream German political entities have generally avoided collaboration with them.
