The Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party have voted down five separate opposition motions aimed at launching a parliamentary investigation into a major investment fund crisis. These proposals sought to examine allegations of market manipulation, potential fraud, and claims that certain investors were able to withdraw capital prior to the freezing of assets. Opposition members argued that a formal inquiry was necessary to determine if regulatory bodies failed to act on early warnings and to identify those accountable for the financial losses suffered by the public. In response, government representatives maintained that existing administrative and criminal proceedings are sufficient, warning that a parliamentary committee could be misused to unfairly target individuals. Consequently, the legislative body will not form a dedicated committee to probe the circumstances surrounding the fund scandal, effectively halting the opposition's efforts to bring the matter under parliamentary oversight.
