The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a new initiative aimed at simplifying the regulatory framework governing commercial space launches and re-entry procedures. Proposed adjustments include the transition to an electronic application process, increased flexibility for companies to prove safety standards, and the consolidation of three distinct safety evaluations into one unified filing. These changes are designed to support the White House's ambitious objective of facilitating at least 1,000 annual space missions by 2030. This target represents a significant increase from the 178 launches recorded in the previous year. The sector has experienced rapid growth over the last decade, with current activity levels ten times higher than those observed in 2013, largely driven by the operations of SpaceX.
