During the Organization of Turkic States summit held in Ankara on October 30, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev advocated for the creation of a Turkic Tourism Alliance. The initiative aims to promote the cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and natural beauty of member nations to a global audience. Furthermore, President Mirziyoyev suggested the development of a multilateral agreement designed to facilitate easier movement for citizens across these countries. This proposed framework focuses on streamlining border crossing processes, extending the use of national identification cards for travel, and simplifying residency requirements for visitors. The president highlighted that the member states collectively hosted over 100 million international tourists in 2025, underscoring the significant potential for regional cooperation in the tourism sector to enhance connectivity and improve the experience for travelers within the organization.
