A police sergeant stationed in Uralsk has been issued a fine of 173,000 tenge after testing positive for marijuana use. The disciplinary action followed a medical examination conducted as part of routine preventive checks by the West Kazakhstan Region Police Department's personnel inspection unit. According to the West Kazakhstan Regional Court, the officer acknowledged his involvement in a written statement, confirming his consumption of the prohibited substance. The sergeant, who worked within an escort unit, did not request a secondary medical evaluation after the initial findings were confirmed. The court finalized the administrative case based on the officer's admission of guilt and the medical evidence provided by the department.
