Security personnel from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 7 Battalion Headquarters intercepted a significant shipment of illegal marijuana in the Siraha district. During a routine patrol in the early hours of Wednesday near the Ittatar border area in Aurahi Rural Municipality, officers discovered individuals transporting the contraband toward India. Upon noticing the patrol team, the suspects fled the scene, leaving behind 157 kilograms and 207 grams of the substance. The seized narcotics have been secured by the authorities, who are now initiating formal legal procedures. Battalion Commander SP Suman Jung Thapa confirmed that security operations and surveillance efforts have been intensified along the border region to prevent further illicit cross-border activities.
