A 67-year-old Chinese national, identified as Zhu Zhishan, was apprehended by authorities in Pattaya on September 13. The suspect had been living in Thailand for over 30 years under the alias Suchat Surachai, utilizing a Thai identification card. Chinese officials have sought the man since January 1990 in connection with a murder case in Zhejiang province, with an Interpol Red Notice subsequently issued in 2020. Local police took the individual into custody at his residence following an investigation into his background. Authorities are currently examining how the suspect allegedly provided fraudulent information to secure Thai citizenship. The investigation revealed that the man initially fled China for Myanmar before eventually entering Thailand, where he maintained a false identity for several decades until his recent capture.
