The Nepal Water and Energy Development Company, alongside contractors Doosan E&C, Andritz, and Power China, has commenced the distribution of financial relief to families affected by recent flooding at the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project. Assistance is being issued directly to bank accounts or verified relatives, while psychosocial support is also being offered to those impacted. Furthermore, the firms are developing comprehensive compensation packages in line with legal requirements. While injured personnel have received medical care, search efforts continue for over 500 missing individuals. Access challenges have hindered operations, prompting the deployment of additional rescue teams and the planned aerial transport of heavy machinery. These companies are coordinating closely with security forces and local authorities to provide necessary resources and facilitate ongoing search and rescue missions at the project site.
