The Delhi Police has initiated legal proceedings against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and various INDIA bloc parliamentarians. This action follows their unauthorized entry into the Akashvani Bhawan complex during a protest on Tuesday. The opposition members were demonstrating against the Election Commission of India, specifically targeting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over concerns regarding electoral roll revisions. The protesters, who marched from Parliament without official clearance, staged an eight-hour sit-in after being intercepted by security forces. Authorities stated that the leaders refused to vacate the premises despite repeated requests, leading to the detention of approximately 260 individuals to maintain public order. All detainees were transported to the New Police Lines at Kingsway Camp and were subsequently released later that night. The Election Commission noted that no prior appointment had been requested by the opposition delegation before the demonstration occurred.
