The second player auction for the DP World International League T20 has concluded, reinforcing the tournament's status as a high-value cricket competition. Recent regulatory adjustments were implemented to increase financial opportunities for domestic and Associate-nation athletes. Consequently, over $1 million was allocated to 24 UAE-based players, each securing a minimum salary of $10,000. Muhammad Waseem achieved the highest local contract, earning $210,000 to remain with MI Emirates, while Alishan Sharafu secured a $110,000 deal with the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. These figures surpass previous records, such as Junaid Siddique’s $170,000 contract from the previous year. The auction, held at the ICC Academy in Dubai, also saw significant financial interest in international cricket stars, reflecting the league's growing prominence in the global sports market.
