In the early hours of October 11, a fire erupted at a ground-floor coffee shop located at Block 413 Bukit Batok West Avenue 4. The Singapore Civil Defence Force received notification of the incident at approximately 3:50 a.m. Firefighters utilized two water jets to extinguish the blaze, which damaged three food stalls within the premises. As a safety measure, authorities evacuated around 30 residents from the building. One individual required transport to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for medical attention. Local Member of Parliament Lee Hong Chuang visited the site to assess the situation and engage with the impacted residents, noting that the fire did not cause major damage to the residential units above. An official investigation into the origin of the fire is currently underway.
