Between October 3 and 11, more than 207,000 individuals exited Kathmandu through the New Bus Park to reunite with their families for the Dashain holiday. According to Pankaj Malla of Lhotse Multipurpose Pvt Ltd, the facility managed a significant volume of travelers during this nine-day period. The peak of this seasonal migration occurred on October 9, with over 31,000 departures recorded in a single day. Other high-traffic dates included October 6 and October 11, which saw nearly 30,000 passengers each. The bus terminal, capable of handling 800 vehicles for various routes, experienced a steady increase in activity throughout the week. Despite the high volume, transport operators are currently navigating difficulties caused by ongoing disruptions on major highway networks as the festive exodus continues.
