Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived at Istana Negara on Saturday for his inaugural state visit to Malaysia since taking office in 2014. The visit was conducted at the invitation of Malaysia's King, Sultan Ibrahim, who personally greeted the Egyptian leader upon his arrival at 10:08 am. The formal welcoming ceremony featured the national anthems of both nations and an inspection of a guard of honour by the President, performed by members of the First Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment. Several high-ranking Malaysian officials were present to mark the occasion, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, along with the ministers of defence, foreign affairs, and investment, trade, and industry. This event highlights the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
