The Chinese government has allocated a total of two million dollars in grant funding to assist Kenya with urgent humanitarian and health challenges. Following a formal request from Nairobi, the financial support is split equally between two primary objectives. One million dollars is designated to enhance infrastructure for Ebola virus preparedness, specifically targeting regions categorized as high-risk or very high-risk. The other half of the grant is intended to help the Kenyan authorities mitigate the ongoing consequences of severe drought conditions affecting the nation. The handover of these funds was finalized during a ceremony in Nairobi involving representatives from the Chinese Embassy and the Kenyan National Treasury.
