A recent seminar titled “My Childhood in a Digital World,” hosted by the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science alongside Qatar University, focused on the urgent need to safeguard minors from internet-related dangers. Attendees emphasized that the integration of artificial intelligence and modern technology into learning environments must be accompanied by robust legislative updates to ensure privacy and security. The discussion underscored that shielding children is a collective duty involving parents, schools, government bodies, and tech companies. Participants argued that while digital tools provide significant educational advantages, it is essential to implement strategies that minimize the negative consequences of excessive screen time and exposure to online hazards. The event served as a call to action for stakeholders to harmonize technological advancement with the healthy development and well-being of the younger generation.
