The fifth iteration of the Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon began on October 2, focusing on celebrating cultural heritage and encouraging active, healthy lifestyles among participants. Organizers intend for the event to act as a catalyst for the ongoing development of Vietnam's capital. This year's competition saw nearly 11,000 athletes register to run. The event is part of a broader trend of large-scale running competitions in Vietnam, following other significant races such as the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon, which anticipates 18,000 participants in 2026, and the VnExpress Midnight Marathon, which recently hosted over 13,000 runners.
