Federal authorities have taken a former employee of the U.S. Department of Energy into custody following allegations that he provided specialized support and materials to the Houthi movement. According to official legal filings, the individual, identified as Ellaboudy, initiated a period of medical leave in December 2024. During this time, he claimed to have suffered exposure to concentrated nitric acid. Investigators noted that this specific chemical substance is frequently utilized in the manufacturing of explosive devices, forming a key component of the evidence presented in the criminal complaint against the former government worker.
