Germany is reportedly exploring the possibility of joining the Global Combat Air Programme, a collaborative fighter jet development initiative currently involving Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy. This interest follows the recent dissolution of a competing Franco-German aerial defense project in June. While the GCAP partnership is already well-established among its three founding nations, the collapse of the alternative European initiative has fueled significant industry speculation regarding a potential expansion of the program to include Berlin. No formal agreement has been reached, but the shift in the European defense landscape has positioned Germany as a prospective candidate for future integration into this advanced military aviation venture.
