The Pakistani government and the Pakistan Peoples Party have established a six-member delegation to engage in discussions with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. This development follows rising political tensions regarding the opposition's scheduled protest march on October 4. During a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif evaluated the national security climate, specifically addressing concerns regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While the federal administration has not ruled out implementing emergency measures or governor's rule in the province, both leaders emphasized the importance of institutional coordination to combat terrorism. PTI Chairperson Barrister Gohar Khan verified that the scheduled dialogue between government and opposition officials is set to proceed at midday, as the opposition continues to advocate for unconditional negotiations to resolve the ongoing political standoff.
