A 39-year-old Yuen Long District Council member, Sei Chun-hing, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison. The conviction stems from unlawful sexual relations he had with a 13-year-old girl starting in 2010, when the defendant was 23 years old. During the sentencing hearing, District Court Judge Stanley Chan Kwong-chi emphasized that the councillor was fully aware of legal boundaries regarding minors at the time of the offense. The judge further remarked on the defendant's lack of remorse for his actions, despite his claims of affection for the victim. The case concludes a legal process regarding events that occurred approximately 15 years ago.
