In September, Hong Kong International Airport recorded a 10.2 percent increase in passenger traffic compared to the previous year, reaching 4.86 million travelers. According to the Airport Authority, this expansion was largely fueled by a surge in transit passengers and a five percent rise in visitor arrivals. Flight movements also saw a seven percent uptick, totaling more than 32,000 operations, while cargo throughput grew by 6.3 percent to 433,000 tonnes. While most regional markets showed positive trends, the Chinese mainland provided the most significant contribution to the growth. Additionally, the decline in traffic involving the Middle East showed signs of stabilizing. The authority noted steady progress across all primary traffic sectors during the month.
