Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh announced that the implementation of the Industrialised Building System (IBS) is being utilized to construct new classrooms across Melaka. This initiative aims to alleviate school overcrowding, which has previously forced administrators to repurpose specialized facilities like laboratories and music rooms into general teaching spaces. By providing dedicated classrooms, these essential facilities can be restored to their original functions. To date, 53 schools in the region have received additional classrooms through this method, with 49 of those institutions previously reporting class sizes exceeding 35 students. The minister highlighted the project's role in optimizing existing school infrastructure during his visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Merdeka. This development is part of a broader effort to improve the learning environment for students in the state.
