Although Hong Kong’s food and beverage industry is currently facing a period of decline, international companies remain confident in the city's status as a premier culinary hub. Recent examples include a South Korean hydroponic ginseng producer and a Japanese confectionery brand with over a century of history, both selecting the city for their inaugural international expansion projects. Biofx, a Seoul-based firm led by CEO Jack Kwon, has finalized an agreement with local hydroponics company Farm66. This partnership aims to cultivate gourmet Korean ginseng within Hong Kong to supply both individual consumers and the city's restaurant sector. These strategic moves highlight a persistent belief among global enterprises in the long-term viability of the local fine-dining landscape despite broader economic challenges.
