Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran remains committed to resisting American influence, asserting that the country will not yield to pressure. During an interview, Araghchi confirmed that indirect negotiations with the United States are continuing through mediators in Qatar and Pakistan. He characterized the nuclear dispute as a secondary issue, arguing that Washington’s primary goal is to undermine Iran's political structure. The minister expressed significant skepticism regarding American reliability, citing past instances where diplomatic agreements were allegedly violated. Despite these tensions, Araghchi introduced a seven-day proposal intended to resolve the current impasse, which includes the conditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that any further diplomatic progress is contingent upon the United States fulfilling its previous commitments and adhering to established understandings, warning that the failure to honor agreements threatens the viability of ongoing negotiations.
