Israeli authorities are currently blocking thousands of individuals selected for a future technocratic police force in Gaza from departing the territory. Although these recruits successfully passed vetting processes, they remain unable to travel to Egypt to undergo essential training. Reports indicate that out of 283,000 initial applicants, approximately 16,500 were approved to join this new security body. Representatives from the Board of Peace have highlighted that the inability to access external training facilities poses a significant hurdle to the establishment of this police force. The current restrictions continue to prevent these vetted candidates from leaving the Gaza Strip to complete their professional preparation.
