According to a recent PwC forecast, annual capital expenditure for data centres in Singapore is anticipated to climb from approximately US$7 billion in 2026 to US$19.2 billion by 2050. This growth represents an annual rate of 4.3 percent, with total cumulative investment reaching an estimated US$330 billion over the 24-year period. The projections distinguish between infrastructure construction and information and communications technology (ICT) equipment. By 2050, ICT spending is expected to dominate the sector at US$16.6 billion, while construction costs are projected at US$2.5 billion. Despite this expansion, the firm noted that Singapore must navigate significant challenges regarding limited land availability and power capacity. Consequently, future investments will likely prioritize the optimization of digital workloads to align with these resource constraints.
