Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight who attempted to crash the aircraft had been subjected to radical Islamist indoctrination. During the flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the co-pilot reportedly stabbed the captain. The captain successfully unlocked the cockpit door, enabling passengers to intervene and restrain the attacker. A reserve crew subsequently diverted the plane, which carried over 170 passengers, to Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia for a safe landing. According to Netanyahu, evidence gathered from the suspect's personal records supports the conclusion that he was suicidal and influenced by extremist ideologies. Israeli security officials have identified the co-pilot as an Omani national as they continue their preliminary investigation into the incident.
