Starting October 21, 2026, Kazakhstan will implement updated regulations regarding insurance settlements for road traffic incidents. According to the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, all compulsory civil liability insurance payouts for vehicle owners must be processed exclusively through bank transfers. This legislative adjustment to Article 25 of the national law eliminates the option for cash settlements. Furthermore, insurance providers are now legally obligated to absorb any transaction fees associated with these electronic transfers. These modifications aim to standardize the compensation process for motorists, ensuring that all financial disbursements are handled through formal banking channels rather than physical cash payments.
